The Ted Lasso star wore this Jadon & Marcus & Bukayo sweatshirt to the season premiere of the beloved Apple TV+ series. The socially conscious crewneck highlighted the actor’s support for the real life English footballers who received massive online racial abuse after missing penalty kicks in last Sunday’s Euro 2020 final at Wembley Stadium in London.
In case you missed it, the players referred to on Sudeikis’s shirt are 21-year-old Jadon Sancho, 23-year-old Marcus Rashford, and 19-year-old Bukayo Saka–all men of color who play on the England national soccer team and who took part in the penalty shootout.
The deplorable abuse, which was sent via social media, made apparent the racial divides within the UK and was quickly condemned by England manger Gareth Southgate and Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
